Do you act wisely? Do you act like the way that God wants you to act? Brothers and sisters, these are an important questions because we need to be like the wise virgins today, where they were ready for everything. They planned it out that if the bridegroom were late then we would have enough oil to last a long time. They were ready for everything. Are we ready for anything? Are we ready for God to walk through those doors?

We need to be wise and prudent in everything that we do. We need to look at everything and see if this is making us holy and closer to God or is it taking us away from God. How we interact with each other’s and push each other closer to God is great and wonderful place to start. Do we talk about God with our friends here, or we just listen on Sunday and not really mention it again? If you are not going to talk about God with people at Church, then why would you talk about God with other people outside of Church? I know that it is harder to talk with other people that might not share the same belief, so we can practice with each other here first and get used to it then we can go out and talk with others. God will give us the wisdom when we need it. Trust in God.

This is wise because if every one of our relationships is God centered then we are thinking more about God, plus other people have different experiences of God and that can teach us how God works in different ways. Other holy people can teach us a lot of things, but we must be willing to listen to them. Sometimes people do not want to listen about God and that is ok, pray for them that one day they will. God is the only one that can change people’s hearts.

Another part of being wised is how we look at our lives. Do we self-reflect and see where we could have prevented committing a sin? Do we spend the time thinking about when we are tempted what are we going to get away from the temptation? These two things are important because when we are being tempted to sin it is hard to think about what we are going to do to prevent us committing the sin. We all know that we will not have the willpower to stop and think about how we are going to act. That is why it is important to look at how we were tempted before and what we are going to change to try to not commit that sin. It might not work, or it might work only for a little bit and then we must change again. The goal is that we take the time, in prayer, of course, outside of the temptation to see how we can do better next time.

These two things can help us to make us wiser and better in our life with Christ. Of course, there are many other actions of wisdom that can help to be prepared and plan how we are going to be ready from the bridegroom is close. So, take some time, in prayer, this week and see how you can be more wised and prepared than ever before. It might just get you to heaven by sinning a little bit less each day. So, brothers and sisters, what is something wise that you can do today to be ready for Christ to call you home because we do not know the hour or day when Christ will ask us to be home.
