Happy Easter! I hope that today you are filled with the joy of the Lord, who through sacrificial love, suffered, died, and resurrected for you. Is it wonderful? There is something special about this time of year and to be loved by God that he sent his only begotten Son to sacrifice himself for us, all strangers and for generations to come.

If we think about that for a moment, who of us would sacrifice ourselves for strangers? Who of us would sacrifice themselves for our loved one? I think more would sacrifice themselves for their children, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, and maybe an aunt or uncle, but for someone you have never met to? That is a lot of love for anyone to do and most people would probably not consider it. Christ wanted to do that for all humanity, and he did not want to do it.

Christ’s sacrificial love is so great and immense that he is willing to do anything for you. This love is not based on what others can do for him, but on what he can do for us. This love should get us to do the same, to sacrifice ourselves for others and you probably are doing that now. Whenever we decide to do something for others that we do not want to do, that is a sacrifice. Whenever we give someone something, that is a sacrifice. Whenever we make others happy instead of ourselves happy, that is a sacrifice. You are acting like Christ you realize it for not.

Sometimes we do not do this happily, we show that we do not want to be there doing whatever it is. Do it with joy because you want to love another person. That means so much more than we have to do it because we are the parents, brothers, or sister, grandma, or grandpa, do it because we want to show them love and that they are appreciated. Show them how much you love them. This is a joy that the world cannot give or take away. It is a joy that is based on the knowledge that we are making a difference in the lives of others. This is the point of sacrificial love; we are doing it for other people. It is what motivates us to love others even when they don’t deserve it.

If you want to experience the fullness of Christ’s love, I encourage you to start by giving of yourself to others. Look for ways to serve them and meet their needs. And as you do, you will experience the joy that comes from sacrificial love. This joy and love can and does change the world. It will make the world a better place and all it takes is a little sacrifice from us, just like Christ did. Does not have to be big or great, it can be a simple kind act for someone else.

Christ’s example should remind us of what we do sometimes and do it more often and with more joy. No one likes to do something because they have to, do it because you love the other person and want to help them out. So whenever someone asks you to take out the trash take it out with joy because you made the other person’s life better.

¡Feliz Pascua! Espero que hoy estéis llenos del gozo del Señor, que por amor sacrificado sufrió, murió y resucitó por vosotros. ¿Es maravilloso? Hay algo especial en esta época del año y ser amado por Dios que envió a su Hijo unigénito para sacrificarse por nosotros, todos los extraños y por las generaciones venideras.

Si pensamos en eso por un momento, ¿quién de nosotros se sacrificaría por extraños? ¿Quién de nosotros se sacrificaría por nuestro ser querido? Creo que más se sacrificarían por sus hijos, padres, abuelos, nietos y tal vez una tía o un tío, pero ¿por alguien a quien nunca has conocido? Eso es mucho amor para cualquiera y la mayoría de la gente probablemente no lo consideraría. Cristo quiso hacer eso por toda la humanidad, y no quiso hacerlo.

El amor sacrificial de Cristo es tan grande e inmenso que está dispuesto a hacer cualquier cosa por ti. Este amor no se basa en lo que otros pueden hacer por él, sino en lo que él puede hacer por nosotros. Este amor debería llevarnos a hacer lo mismo, a sacrificarnos por los demás y probablemente lo estés haciendo ahora. Cada vez que decidimos hacer algo por los demás que no queremos hacer, eso es un sacrificio. Cada vez que le damos algo a alguien, eso es un sacrificio. Cada vez que hacemos felices a otros en lugar de hacer felices a nosotros mismos, eso es un sacrificio. Estás actuando como Cristo, te das cuenta de que no.

A veces no lo hacemos con gusto, demostramos que no queremos estar ahí haciendo lo que sea. Hazlo con alegría porque quieres amar a otra persona. Eso significa mucho más que tenemos que hacerlo porque somos padres, hermanos o hermana, abuela o abuelo, hacerlo porque queremos mostrarles amor y que sean apreciados. Demuéstrales cuánto los amas. Esta es una alegría que el mundo no puede dar ni quitar. Es una alegría que se basa en el conocimiento de que estamos marcando una diferencia en la vida de los demás. Este es el punto del amor sacrificial; lo estamos haciendo por otras personas. Es lo que nos motiva a amar a los demás incluso cuando no lo merecen.

Si quieres experimentar la plenitud del amor de Cristo, te animo a que empieces por darte a los demás. Busque formas de atenderlos y satisfacer sus necesidades. Y mientras lo haces, experimentarás el gozo que proviene del amor sacrificial. Esta alegría y este amor pueden y cambian el mundo. Hará del mundo un lugar mejor y todo lo que se necesita es un pequeño sacrificio de nuestra parte, tal como lo hizo Cristo. No tiene que ser grande o genial, puede ser un simple acto de bondad para otra persona.

El ejemplo de Cristo debe recordarnos lo que hacemos a veces y hacerlo más a menudo y con más alegría. A nadie le gusta hacer algo porque tiene que hacerlo, hazlo porque amas a la otra persona y quieres ayudarla. Entonces, cada vez que alguien te pida que saques la basura, sácalo con alegría porque hiciste que la vida de la otra persona fuera mejor.
