They keep on trying to trap Jesus and it never works and this week again they are trying to see what he will say so they can accuse him of something, but he gives us one the best answer for all of us to follow. He tells us that we need to love God with everything we are and love our neighbor as ourselves. This distills what we need to do every day and that we need to make sure we are following this. Do you love God above everything? Do you treat our neighbors with love, dignity, respect? If we are not, how can you change this?

The first part, I hope we all do, is love God in everything we do. This is first because it is where our foundation should be. First if we love God then we should love our neighbor the same way. We need to love God above everything, this is possibly where we need to work on. Sometimes we do, but other times we do not. The point is that we are making the effort to do it and be better at it every single day. This takes work and Jesus want to work on this and be better today than yesterday.

The last part and this can be difficult for us depending on the person, do we love our neighbors, or do we treat horribly? And your neighbors are anyone, even your own family. How do we talk with them? Do we talking with them like we would talk to Jesus? This means with respect that we show to God. We need to talk with them love. If the answer is no, change it now. Do not wait. The more we wait the worse it could be. It does not matter if we are angry with them, or they are angry with us. Act like Jesus, which he would still be kind toward people who are angry at him. He still acts with kindness in every interaction, this usually defuses a lot of things.

He does that with us. I have a feeling our actions probably make him sad and or upset. He sees us as good people and then we prove him wrong. We act unkind, hurtful, or divisive. Were we might want to give back what they did to us. If you make me mad, I am going to do the same thing to you. I will show you how it feels. This is usually very childish, and God wants nothing to do with this. He does not do this for us, so why do we do this towards others? I am sorry that your feelings got hurt, but sometimes you must grow up and act like adults and show them kindness when they show you hatred. This is the only way to not keep on making things worse. Otherwise, they will respond the same way, and this will keep on going on. Do the right thing and talk with them in a kind manner and treat them with respect. This is easier said than done, but this is exactly what Jesus is calling us to do today and show us this with Gospels reading the past few weekends. To give kindness towards everyone, no matter what. Work on these brothers and sisters for your salvation because I would hate that you miss heaven because you dislike someone. It is not worth it.

The message from God is clear today and there is no way around it. We need to love God above all things and treat our neighbors with love, not matter what we have done, or they have done to us. We need to treat them with love.
