Did you know you have a superpower? A superpower so great that everyone wants it. You have the power of God behind you. Yes, the power of God because you are baptized and adopted by God. God will do anything for you because you are his children and there is nothing you can do to reject that. There is no sin to great that God will reject you. You will always have this superpower for the rest of your life.
That is the power of baptism and all the sacraments of the Church we are given the special grace (supernatural grace) or superpower if you want to think about it that way, you are given this grace to help you fight against sin and this world. All the sacraments work together to protect you and the more you use them the more powerful you get. In other words, unlimited power! Yes, by going to Mass, Confession, you can keep on getting more grace to help you fight. I would think everyone would want that.
So, for everyone who is not using the sacraments that often because you do not feel like it or because you are not married in the Church, you are missing out on the best superpower that you can have. You are missing out on being closer to God, so I would recommend going to confession more often or getting married in the Church. We would love to help you.
This superpower is the most important part of everyone lives, the more we use it and fight against this world and as St. Paul put it in the second reading “The grace of God has appeared, saving all and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age.” This superpower helps us to reject the world and godless ways and live with God. This superpower of grace is that God give freely to all his children, especially through the sacrament. The sacraments are the instruments that God gives grace, superpower. We should all use it as much as we can.
All this starts with baptizing Jesus. He has taken on our sins and has given us this grace or superpower to withstand the world and all the temptations. That is why it is important for all of us to use the sacraments, come to daily Mass if you can, come to confession, receive first communion or confirmation if you need it. Or bring your children to all the sacraments and give them this superpower that God wants to give them. As parents it is your responsibility for your soul and your children’s and God wants to give everyone these graces. So please make the effort at least for your children, but also for yourself.
Brothers and sisters, this superpower of grace is something that we all can receive and have as our protection all we must do is ask and go to Mass and confession, to receive the grace that God wants everyone to stand against this world. Without God and this superpower, it will be harder to stand against sin and this world, so you might as well receive the superpower that God wants to give you.
