Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with boundless joy that I tell you that here in the next few weeks we will be starting the Cross Center renovations that I mention about a year ago. As you can see from the drawing below, we are taking half of the Cross center and removing all the walls. We should be able to seat up to 185 people for eating and close to 300 for a big group meeting or a mixture of both. Of course, everything will be moveable so we can fit any needs of this parish. This space should be a good place to gather as a community for different events for many more years to come. Part of this renovations, I want to build up even more St. John of the Cross Catholic Church as a community of people that can gather under one roof to share a meal or an event for years to come. When we finish this renovation, I want to start to have bimonthly or monthly gatherings as a community, so if you like to gather people together, please let me know because I will need people to volunteer for these upcoming community gatherings. Wait for more information to come in the coming months.
Another wonderful thing about this space is the serving pantry that can be used to serve some wonderful meals that this community can make. We will have plenty of countertops and a warming box and buffet chafers that you can use to keep your food warm and delicious. It will be a great space to help serve the community in however we need to.
Also, we will be able to start to offer this fellowship hall for receptions for weddings or Quinceañera or whatever people want to rent out the space. So, if you are planning anything and need a large space, please feel free to contact the office for more information. We will be happy to help fulfill your needs!
Finally, you can see that we will be adding some more storage space and will have one office space for our staff to use during CCE or confirmation program or really anything else. As you might have noticed there is no longer two offices in the Cross Center because we have moved all our staff under one building in our Parish office, so we can collaborate and communicate a lot easier. It is already paying off.
As I close talking about the renovations of the Cross Center, I ask that everyone keep this project in your prayers and that God will be our light in everything that we at St. John of the Cross.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Es con una alegría sin límites que les digo que aquí en las próximas semanas estaremos comenzando las renovaciones de Centro de la Cruz que mencioné hace aproximadamente un año. Como puede ver en el dibujo de abajo (en la parte de atrás), estamos tomando la mitad del Centro de la Cruz y eliminando todas las paredes. Deberíamos poder acomodar hasta 185 personas para comer y cerca de 300 para una reunión de grupo grande o una combinación de ambos. Por supuesto, todo será móvil para que podamos adaptarnos a cualquier necesidad de esta parroquia. Este espacio debería ser un buen lugar para reunirse como comunidad para diferentes eventos durante muchos años más. Como parte de estas renovaciones, quiero construir aún más la Iglesia Católica St. John of the Cross como una comunidad de personas que puedan reunirse bajo un mismo techo para compartir una comida o un evento en los años venideros. Cuando terminemos esta renovación, quiero comenzar a tener reuniones bimensuales o mensuales como comunidad, así que si desea reunir a las personas, hágamelo saber porque necesitaré personas que se ofrezcan como voluntarias para estas próximas reuniones comunitarias. Otra cosa maravillosa de este espacio es la despensa que se puede usar para servir algunas comidas maravillosas que esta comunidad puede preparar. Tendremos un montón de encimeras y una caja de calentamiento y chafers de buffet que puede usar para mantener su comida caliente y deliciosa. Será un gran espacio para ayudar a servir a la comunidad en cualquier forma que lo necesitemos.
Además, podremos comenzar a ofrecer este salón de compañerismo para recepciones de bodas o quinceañeras o lo que sea que la gente quiera alquilar el espacio. Entonces, si está planeando algo y necesita un espacio grande, no dude en comunicarse con la oficina para obtener más información. ¡Estaremos encantados de ayudar a satisfacer sus necesidades!
Finalmente, puede ver que agregaremos más espacio de almacenamiento y tendremos un espacio de oficina para que nuestro personal lo use durante el CCE o el programa de confirmación o cualquier otra cosa. Como habrán notado, ya no hay dos oficinas en Cross Center porque hemos trasladado a todo nuestro personal a un solo edificio en nuestra oficina parroquial, para que podamos colaborar y comunicarnos mucho más fácilmente. Ya está dando sus frutos.
Al terminar hablando de las renovaciones del Cross Center, les pido a todos que mantengan este proyecto en sus oraciones y que Dios sea nuestra luz en todo lo que hagamos en St. John of the Cross.
